Celebrate Christmas the Southern way with this magical holiday tour through Tupelo, Huntsville, Wetumpka, and Auburn.
Highlights include the Galaxy of Lights, a Victorian Christmas dinner, gingerbread villages, holiday porch tours, space history at the U.S. Space & Rocket Center, and musical performances like Carols by Candlelight.
This joyful journey blends faith, history, and festive charm—perfect for travelers who love meaningful holiday traditions.
Day 1: Travel to Tupelo, MS and explore Elvis Presley’s Birthplace, Museum & Park before checking into our hotel.
Day 2: Enjoy breakfast at the hotel, then depart for Huntsville, AL for the next 2 nights. This evening we will explore the Huntsville Botanical Gardens for the Annual Galaxy of Lights! Day 3: After breakfast at the hotel, our first Christmas experience is a Twickenham Historic District tour with a step-on guide and includes a stop at Harrison Brothers Hardware. Free time for lunch and shopping at Stovehouse, built on the original sight of the 1928 Martin Stamping & Stove Factory. Tonight, we will visit Burritt on the Mountain for a Victorian Holiday Dinner in the Mansion. Enjoy an elegant 5 course meal and be serenaded by the Huntsville Master Chorale!
Day 4: Today, after breakfast at the hotel, we will check out and visit the Huntsville Space and Rocket Center. On March 21, 1950, the von Braun rocket team moved to Huntsville and joined a group of US rocketry specialists. They would go on to create some of the world’s first rockets and satellites to orbit the Earth, and ultimately, the Saturn V rocket that sent the American Apollo Astronauts to the moon.
**They will possibly offer a special treat for us, a show of Star of Bethlehem! Lunch is on your own. Depart for Wetumka, home of the first HGTV Hometown Takeover and see the house from Tim Burton’s film, The Big Fish! The small town has a quaint downtown area that is decorated to the hilt.
Tonight, we have a special dinner in store and you never know who may show up! Check in Hotel.(B,D)
Day 5: It’s breakfast at the hotel, then check out. We depart for Opelika/Auburn. First stop, we experience the largest Gingerbread Village in East Alabama at Tony & Libba Rane Culinary Science Center. Over 10 huge Gingerbread Buildings are on display. Lunch is at the Bontanic. The grounds are decorated beautifully for the Holidays! There’s shopping time in Downtown before we check-in our hotel. Tonight , we have an amazing event in store! Christmas in a Railroad Town. Enjoy hot chocolate as you wander downtown. Don’t forget to feed the Reindeer! Next, take a Wagon Ride thru Home & Gardens and Country Livings Magazines top rated holiday events in the country, The Victorian Porch Tour. Gaze at the stunning porch displays decked out in every type of Christmas Scene! After a wonderful, included dinner, it’s back to the hotel.
Day 6: It’s breakfast at the hotel , then check out. We depart for Jackson, MS where we will have dinner at Bravo Italian Restaurant, or similar. As our final night together, we head to our evening event. First Baptist Church Jackson shares the story of the greatest gift ever given—the gift of God sending His Son to earth— Through music and drama in this year’s presentation of Carols by Candlelight!
Day 7: After breakfast at the hotel, we load our luggage one last time as we make our way home with warm holiday memories.
