Day 4: Today enjoy a horse drawn carriage tour of the island including Fort Mackinac before we take our seats at the famous Grand Hotel for a delectable buffet lunch in the main dining room.

Afterwards you can meander around the hotel and discover its history or sit on the veranda and soak in the warm sunshine as you gaze out across the water. The afternoon and evening are free to do as you please.

Day 5: Free day. Some options today are to rent bicycle and ride the 8+ mile perimeter of the island, shop the many shops on MainStreet, visit the museums and eat fudge or people watch from the hotel veranda! You may wish to ride the ferry back to the mainland for more shopping in Mackinaw City.

Day 6: We will ferry back across to the mainland this morning and make our way south to the Thunder Bay Resort. We have a real treat in store for tonight. We’ll board a horse drawn carriage lead by massive draft horse. We’ll be whisked “over the river and through the woods” to the resort’s elk preserve to view Rocky Mountain elk in their natural habitat before being treated to a five-course gourmet dinner at Elk Antler Cabin!

Day 7: After a full breakfast, we head further south to Frankenmuth and enjoy a delicious chicken dinner at Zehnder’s Restaurant, which has been around since 1856! Don’t miss their store filled with baked goods baked on site along with other gifts! A stop at Frankenmuth wouldn’t be complete without a stop at the Worlds’ Largest Christmas Store!

Day 8: After breakfast at the hotel, our Amish guide will board our bus to share the story of how the Amish came to settle in Middlebury, Indiana. We’ll visit a bakery, a wood shop along with a general store before have a Haystack lunch in an Amish home.
